What you will be doing

  • Lead project controls for the project and ensure quality work, on time, on budget, and to the Client's satisfaction
  • Provides leadership and project controls expertise
  • Closely works with Project Director, Commercial Director, the Client, subcontractor and other project stakeholders to successfully lead all aspects of project controls such as cost control and scheduling
  • Develop and maintain relevant project controls procedures
  • Responsible for cost control, earned value management and project reporting
  • Monitor costs and prepare cost reporting as required by Project Director
  • Establish and administer cost control and processes for project Joint Venture (JV)
  • Review subcontracts agreements/contracts to ensure compliance with any cost and planning or audit requirements
  • Oversee planning and scheduling management
  • Assist in commercial reviews, performance benchmarking and other strategic opportunities
  • Prepare monthly reports as required to report and update the Client
  • Liaise with Joint Venture (JV) members and provide supporting documents or schedules as required
  • Establish and maintain annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Oversee any insurance issues
  • Provide technical guidance in relation to schedule and cost control to Construction Manager and Segment Construction Managers
  • Track status of the Pain/Gainshare mechanism to report to parent Companies and Client
  • Manage the tracking of the Early Warnings Log.
  • Oversee Reconciliation process for billings to Client

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience on heavy civil infrastructure construction projects
  • Strong cost management and reporting background
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient with Primavera P6 will be considered an asset
  • Excellent quantitative, analytic, and deductive reasoning capabilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines
  • Proven leadership skills to manage a multi-disciplinary team
  • Result-oriented individual
