We’re looking for a Compliance Coordinator to support our compliance and employment law programs during an 14 to 18 months contract. In this role, you’ll help coordinate initiatives, track regulatory requirements, support employee investigations, and ensure adherence to company policies. You’ll also assist with audits, conflict of interest reviews, and EEO and anti-corruption programs.

What you will be doing

  • Support the effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Ethics and Compliance Program (“Compliance Program”),  through clear communication, training, and coordination across departments and project sites.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager (Canada) in promoting a culture of ethics and compliance, monitoring compliance risks, and gathering information for reporting.
  • Act as an advocate for the Compliance Program by providing guidance to employees and third parties on ethics and compliance matters.
  • Assist department managers in fulfilling their compliance oversight responsibilities.
  • Help identify, assess, and address compliance risk areas on a periodic basis.
  • Monitor changes in legislation that may impact the company.
  • Monitor the third-party due diligence system and request additional information from business partners when necessary.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of compliance policies, procedures and or tools.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager in ensuring that appropriate records are generated and maintained.
  • Support the Compliance Manager (Canada) in developing, coordinating, and delivering company-wide compliance training.
  • Monitor training completion in collaboration with the Learning and Development team.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager in coordinating external and internal audits and compliance reviews.  
  • Track and follow up on corrective actions identified during compliance audits.
  • Maintain records of compliance activities.

 

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Human Resources, or other related discipline.
  • Certification in Compliance (such as CCEP OR CCEP-I) will be considered an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ethics and compliance or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in the construction or engineering industries is preferred. 
  • Internationally trained lawyers will also be considered for this position.
  • Experience in ISO37001 and/ or  ISO37301implementation or auditing and risk assessment experience will be considered an asset.
  • Experience developing policies and procedures that impact multiple business units.
  • General knowledge of federal and provincial regulatory practices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in either French or Spanish will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent research and investigative skills.
  • Excellent training and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle frequent work interruptions.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • High degree of creativity, judgment and confidentiality.
  • Availability to travel as required.
