Inspection and Quality Control:
- Inspect and verify the condition of molds used for precast segmental bridge deck production, ensuring they meet design specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections of molds before, during, and after each use to ensure they are free from defects, damage, or wear.
- Ensure that moulds are cleaned and properly oiled/lubricated before the placement of rebar cage
- Ensure the moulds are properly maintained to prevent contamination that could affect the quality of the concrete segments.
Pre-Casting Preparation:
- Review the specifications, drawings, and production plans to verify the correct mould setup and alignment before casting.
- Check the calibration of moulds to confirm that they conform to the necessary dimensional tolerances.
Monitoring Casting Process:
- Monitor the pouring of concrete into the moulds to ensure that it is performed according to the required procedures.
- Inspect and monitor concrete flow, consolidation, and curing to ensure the segments are cast correctly.
- Ensure that moulds are properly sealed to prevent leakage and ensure uniformity in the concrete segments.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and complete pre-pour inspection checklists for all segments
- Prepare and complete post pour inspection checklists for all segments
- Maintain accurate records of mould inspections, including detailed reports of inspections, actions taken, and any issues identified.
- Report defects or non-compliance with specifications to the Lead Moulds Inspector
Troubleshooting:
- Identify and troubleshoot issues such as air pockets, surface defects, or misalignments during casting.
- Take corrective actions to prevent defective segments, including adjusting mould setup, re-calibrating, or initiating repairs.
Collaboration and Training:
- Participate in team meetings to discuss production performance and quality issues related to moulds.
